Stampin’ Creative August Blog Hop – Sneak Peak!

By | August 29, 2015

Welcome!  You many have arrived from here from the lovely Louise or even back-tracked from Emma, either way, you are very welcome to Stamp in Colour.  Our theme this month is Sneak Peak, because as if you didn’t already know, the new Autumn/Winter catalogue launches on Tuesday September 1st – can I hear a whoop whoop!!!

It’s hard to believe summer is almost over, mind you with the change in temperature and rain this week, maybe it’s not that difficult after all!

I don’t really do Hallow’een so I’ve jumped straight ahead to Christmas.  I have chosen the Holly Jolly and Christmas Greetings Thinlits Bundles for my projects this month.  There are 17 bundles in this year’s Autumn/Winter catalogue – 17?!!??!  What exactly is a bundle, I hear someone at the back ask?!  Well, you can purchase any item in our catalogue separately, but some items co-ordinate perfectly together and Stampin’ Up! very kindly let you buy them together, if you so wish, with a 15% reduction 🙂

I’ve also chosen to highlight the Holidays Fancy Foil vellum which I love – the snowflake one is definitely my favourite! So saving that for last.

So first off, we have the lady in red.  My cards this month are fairly simple as Christmas is, for me, the time when I am on mass production mode and I like to have a quick and easy design that I can make a multitude of.  I’ve used a base of Thick Whisper White, and the Fancy Foil vellum.

You can just see a hint of another new product – Red Foil Sheets – lush!  I’ve heat embossed the snowflakes from Holly Jolly Greetings in gold and added a few metallic sequins and if you look closely, you can spot some gold metallic thread looping around the background.

Next up, is my kraft card in shades of green and gold.  I’ve used the Chalk Talk framelits and the Scalloped Tag topper punch to get my layered look here.

Cut a piece of gold foil measuring 2 inches by 3.5 inches and insert each end into the punch.  You then get a perfect shape to place under your Chalk Talk die-cut. If you check out our weekly deals, the Chalk Talk framelits are currently reduced, so if they catch your eye, don’t delay, the price goes back to normal 11pm Tuesday.

Finally, I have my favourite vellum.  I’ve die-cut ‘peace’ from our silver glimmer paper and layered it onto a piece of our corrugated paper.

Spot the new embellishment.  These are fabulous snowflakes that come in natural wood – perfect left in their natural stage, coloured with markers or even heat embossed as I’ve done here in silver.

One new product that works perfectly with these thinlits and I know you are going to LOVE is our brand new adhesive – our Fine Tip Glue Pen.  That will be first on your wish list, trust me!

I hope you like today’s cards, do please continue your tour and hop on to Emma’s blog. I know she will have a treat for us all.

You know I had to take another look in the catalogue … How could I have over looked these beautiful Foil Vellum sheets? I particularly love the Red one. These really are festive and I think this vellum may be making it’s way onto my order this week x

So beautiful Eimear I especially like the info that Chalk Talk framelits can be layered with the Scalloped Tag punch like that!

Thanks Pip, it is a great little trick – love how everything Stampin’ Up co-ordinates even when it’s not necessarily designed to!! Or was it …?!

I like that the first two ‘sock it to me’ cards are so reproducible – an important thing when we have to make so many cards at Christmas. They fit the remit so well. But my favourite has to be the soft, gentle ‘peace on earth’ card.xx

Stunning cards and a lovely source of inspiration as I struggle using DSP and Vellum on cards x

I admit to being a DSP hoarder but these new vellums are so gorgeous, it would be a travesty to keep them in a drawer!
