You may have arrived from Mikaela or this may well be your first stop, either way you are very welcome. It is very hard to believe that we are already eagerly awaiting the launch of our new Annual catalogue in June, harder still to believe that June is just four weeks away – where is this year going?
And though we can hardly contain our excitement for all the brand new products that are coming our way – yes, as demonstrators we’ve seen them already, we’ve even played with a few!! – it is a bitter sweet feeling as we have to say good-bye to many well-loved items on our retiring list and that is what we are showcasing today.
The last time I looked, the stamp sets I am using today are still available, unfortunately Lost Lagoon card stock and the Circle Framelits have sold out. So be warned, if there is something on the retiring list you wish to purchase, then head over to my online shop and purchase it immediately before it too sells out.
So back to my project. I’ve combined two stamp sets today, one from the Spring Summer catalogue and one from the Annual catalogue. Like many of you, I don’t feel I’ve used Project Life Let’s Get Away enough and it is a really great set, perfect for embellishing your holiday albums but great for many all occasion cards as it has images of cars, caravans, planes, birds and some great phrases too.
I stamped the compass from Going Global in Sahara Sand to make my own background and then I’ve used various Circle Framelits to cut out my circles and looped some Linen Thread (thankfully not going anywhere – everyone breathe a sigh of relief!) around the back.
My thinking behind making this card is I might just treat my husband to a weekend away for his Birthday. I’m spending the first night away from my baby boy this week with some friends and if it goes well, I think I might surprise my hubby with a little get away. Mind you, if it doesn’t go well, we’ve a couple of months of training to do to get my baby more used to the idea – so never say never! It’s not like me to be organised for anything two months in advance so I’m feeling quite pleased with myself!
I even added a little stamped decoration to the inside…
and I also created a couple of fun little tags using Alphabet Rotary Stamp (sadly aLao retiring) to get us in the mood for our trip…
So I hope you like my projects today. This month you may have noticed that we have added an exciting little extra. Gorgeous card. I hope you and John get away!
This is a wonderful stamp set and coordinating punch set ideal for a total beginners as it so simplistic for birthdays celebrations etc . The punch is very versatile to as you can insert a strip of card stock and make bigger banners to stamp sentiments on . As with so many stamp and matching coordinating punches in Stampin up ranges it makes card and gift making easier with a rainbow or matching ribbons, card stock ink etc to give a quality finish on so many creative ideas for all ages
Love these projects, very sad to see this set go but hey ho! Lost Lagoon has been my go to choice of colour for the past year x
Me too Karen, it suited Male cards, Christmas cards, floral cards, need I go on??! But I think I could quite used to Dapper Denim, oh and Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum is growing on me too…

Wow what a great little set! I think I’m the only person on the planet who actually didn’t purchase Going Global etc – and now it’s too late 🙁 bit sad when I see all these fabulous ideas to use them with!
I was hoping it would carry over as with many of my sets I just didn’t use it enough… But I’m fickle, roll on June lol!!
I have been toying with the rotary punch for some time – so useful for making up your own sentiments etc….So gutted that its retiring….

The PL set is staying firmly on my shelf as I’ve not used it much and has so much potential. I do hope you manage to get away for a break.
