Stamping Creative Blog Hop – Made for Men

By | April 29, 2017

Can you believe it’s almost May?! Especially with the strange weather we have had in the UK this week?! However, the end of the month means that it’s time for the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop and this month we are focussing on male themed cards.

You may have arrived from the fabulous Mikaela Titheridge – I’ll bet you loved her creations this month – if you arrived directly here, with me, Eimear Carvill at Stamp in Colour, you are very welcome and be sure to pop round us all, you won’t be disappointed.

I am a demonstrator based in Wiltshire running classes and retreats but today, it’s all about the men!  They don’t get a look in our crafting rooms very often as we do tend to, we I know I tend to,  make more female oriented cards, but with Father’s Day coming up we thought we’d feature them this month.

Now, we are at a funny time of the year, where a lot of our products are retiring and the ones that we are dying to get our hands on aren’t quite available for you yet.  I thought for my projects, I would feature two cards, one where I know you can get the products right now, and another where there are a few sneaky peeks of upcoming products that I love already and I know you will too.

Firstly, here is a card featuring the current set Guy Greetings coupled with the retiring DSP By the Shore.  (just as a by the way, all our DSP retires with the onset of a new catalogue)

  • We have the gorgeous Dapper Denim paired with Very Vanilla mirroring the colours in the fab By the Shore DSP.
  • I’ve used the Layering Circles and the Stitched Shapes Framelits with the Sparkle Embossing folder for a little visual interest.
  • I do love to mount my pieces with dimensionals and add some metallic thread behind – this time I’ve used silver metallic thread,

Here is a close-up…

For my next project, I’ve used two new products, The Wood Textures paper stack and some gorgeous new Copper Trim.

This DSP features some gorgeous Wooden photographic images in various shades, I’m just loving the deep, rich browns and thought it paired perfectly with the copper embossed Happy Birthday from Stylised Birthday – I softened it a little by adding vellum.

The images are so real it fools your senses into believing you can almost touch and smell the wood – I just love them and I know you will too.  Not long to wait, our brand new catalogue goes live at the beginning of June.  If you do not have your own Stampin’ Up demonstrator, and would like to receive one then sign up here and I will be sure to get one to you as soon as they are available.

Here are the products I’ve used which are currently available in my online shop…

Gorgeous! Such different designs and I especially love the simplicity of the second one (no surprise there, right?!). Caro x

oooo Eimear, I love both of your creations. I never think to go nautical for a man and I’ve no idea why … but that wood effect paper looks so real … it’s gorgeous with this simple overlay. Fab work and beautifully photographed too x
