Light-Up Framed Decoration using Bethlehem Edgelit Dies

By | December 16, 2017

We have lots of resources to use as Stampin’ Up demonstrators when it comes to finding project inspiration. I found this idea using a different set on one of our Facebook groups from Kathryn Simpson.  Later another fellow demonstrator from my home country, Emma Fawcett made a similar project using the Bethlehem edgelits,  I loved her version and wanted to use it in a class but needed to simplify it as I knew some of the attendees would be first time crafters.  This is how my own Bethlehem Light Up Frame came into being.

We had great fun last week at class making these frames, and I must admit, the ladies did exceptionally well for their first time at a stamping class.  there is very little stamping in the project, but the rest of it is fairly ‘fiddly’ so I was very proud of how they did. When my children saw the projects, they decided I had to make them as teacher gifts hence last nights work.

Even by my own admission, they do look great!  I had to go and buy more frames today so I could make one to keep for our own house.  They are not the easiest project, but you don’t need any particular crafting skill, just patience!  However the end result is worth it, wouldn’t you agree?

These are 6 x 6 inch box frames from The Range  – if you’re in the UK.

I’ve used Night of Navy and Smoky Slate cardstock together with some Silver glimmer paper.

It is easier to show you how to make the Bethlehem frame rather than describe it so I’ve made a video  – enjoy!  If you’ve any questions, please pop them in the comments below or in comments in the video.

Until next time happy crafting,

Do you place the light part on the glue dot or the wire part without the light?

Patti, I’ve done a bit of both – mostly on the wire but with these lights they don’t get too hot so I’ve also put them on the little bulb part too.
