Stampin’ Up! Retiring Products Blog Hop – Cool Treats Birthday Card

By | April 30, 2018

I am part of a group of global demonstrators who want to showcase some last chance products for you this morning and I have chosen the fabulous Cool Treats stamp set together with the matching Frozen Treat dies for a ‘Cool’ Cool Treats Birthday Card  – see what I did there 😉  I’ve also used poor old Chocolate Chip which is one of our retiring colours this year.

When Lemon Lime Twist joined us as an In-Colour last year, I immediately paired it with Chocolate Chip as it just reminded me so much of Ice-creams and Ice Lollies.  So for the last swan song of this colour and this stamp set, I had to create an ice cream with chocolate sauce and glitter sprinkles.

I used the Square Stitched Shape Framelits to create a frame for my Cool Treats Birthday ice-cream and a tiny scrap of the Myths and Magic glimmer paper as the bling for my project – you always have to have some sort of bling, in my opinion!!

Tips and Tricks for my Cool Treats Birthday Card

  • This is the perfect set to use up all those tiny scraps – the cone is so easy to make. The die both cuts the shape and embosses the pattern of the cone.
  • I’ve added a little Wink of Stella to my ice-cream.
  • The Triple Banner punch makes cutting the flag ends of my sentiment strips a cinch

I hope you enjoyed my project this morning. I made this Cool Treats Birthday card for a team member who celebrated her Birthday with us together at Team Night on Friday! We had such fun!

Do hop on round the rest of the group, where you will be filled with inspiration for our Last Chance products.

Great card Eimear, love the clean and simple lines. The addition of the silver foil just makes this card. Thanks for sharing
