Floral Romance for GDP#175

By | February 7, 2019

This week’s challenge at the Global Design Project has a theme of Down the Garden Path.  I thought I would share the Fabulous Floral Romance suite that I used to make a card for the Sunday class at our recent WLCR Crafty Escape to the Country.  There was a choice of making a piece of Home Decor, a set of cards, or even both!  Most people opted for both so they went home with a ton of creations!!

So back to today’s creation.  This was one of my simplest cards from my Sunday class but I think my favourite.  With all the #simplestamping around, I am slowly getting used to white space. I made a really #simplestamping card using this suite last week, you can see it here.

Tips and Tricks for my Floral Romance Card

  • I wanted to make full use of all the colours and ingredients of the suite, so I wanted to include some fussy cut leaves from the vellum DSP.  There are two double-sided paper designs in the DSP collection and two vellum designs – all are gorgeous!
  • I’ve die-cut some other leaves in both Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • The blossom sprays have been die-cut in Petal Pink and Fresh Fig and the elements were all joined together and topped with a gold  floral seal.
  • I’ve also stamped some more leaves, flowers and dots in Fresh Fig, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz.
  • Finally I’ve taken a strip of Pear Pizzazz and heat embossed my sentiment in White.

Here is a close-up of my element.  The dies are just fab as they both cut and emboss the leaves.
