I thought I would share my latest Cards and a Cuppa projects with you. I hold this drop-in session at The Bull Hotel in Fairford every two weeks. My latest session was last Friday and we created some lovely cards using the Block Spritzing Technique to create sunrise and sunset backgrounds. It’s been a while since I made cards like these, but you can see some other examples here.
Tips and Tricks for the Block Spritzing Technique.
- I used this technique to mimic the colours in both a sunrise and a sunset but you can create artistic backgrounds with any colours you choose.
- Several colours were used and scribbled onto my large E block with the colours going from light to dark.
- The block was the spritzed with water and pressed down firmly onto Shimmery White Cardstock. Shimmery White and Watercolour paper are the best choices for any techniques that use water as they absorb a lot of water without damaging the paper.
- While this is drying, I assembled the rest of the card. To speed up the drying process you can use the heat gun.
- Finally I stamped my rushes and mounted the piece before assembling using dimensionals.
You can see the colours I used for the sunset in these next photos. I must admit the sunset was my favourite, but most people opted to make the sunrise instead. They were possibly influenced by the lovely weather we’e been having recently.
I used Home to Roost which was a Sale-a-bration set this year but we have several sets that would work just as well now that SAB 2019 has come to an end. I think Dandelion Wishes would be a perfect choice.
