Crafting for the Weekend – Quick & Easy Sponged Sunrise

By | July 15, 2017

I have a quick and easy Sponged Sunrise card for you this week where I want to show you how you can achieve a sunrise using just a couple of Stampin’ Up inks and some sponges – super quick and easy, yet an amazing card!

Quick and Easy Sponged Sunrise Eimear Carvill Stampincolour

Believe it or not, the stamps used on this card are from Daisy Delight.  It’s not one of the stamps often used, we’re much more used to the flamboyant Daisy itself.  However, I felt it was time for these cute little stamps to shine.

Tips and Tricks for the Sponged Sunrise

  • Take off the excess ink on a scrap piece of paper first, this eliminates the grainy/hairy effect you get when you first start sponging
  • Start sponging off the cardstock and slowly bring the sponge onto the cardstock by sponging in a circular motion
  • Build up the colour slowly  – you can always add more colour, but you cannot remove it!

I have included a video tutorial to show you how I achieved the effect, Don’t mix up your sponges – just sayin’!!

As always, I have included the products I used in this Sponged Sunrise card, do remember the Christmas in July continues right until the end of the month.  We also have our Bonus Days promotion whereby you will earn a €6/#4.50 voucher to spend in August for every €60/£45 you spend in July!
