Well what a weekend we just had! It was exhausting but exhilarating to organise a successful Crafty Escape Day for a group of wonderful crafty ladies here in Wiltshire. I thought I would share a little medley of photos from the day.
We had a technique class in the morning – luckily noone had too late a night or too early a start as we had a full morning’s sessions planned for them. We used the fabulous ‘It’s a Celebration’ from the new Autumn Winter catalogue to create a co-ordinating suite of gifts, from a candle, to a gift box with a matching tag and shaker card.
Here is the candle and gift box. I used the colours in the product suite as my inspiration – with Sweet Sugarplum and Silver.
It’s been a while since I created a candle like this and I loved making this one with this particular stamp set. It was the first time I tried to add a heat embossed image to a candle and it worked really well.
And here is a bird’s Eye view as we used some Silver Foil and a little more embossing for the box closure together with the lovely glitter ribbon, again from the new Autumn Winter Catalogue.

Thank you Dawn – these were the projects from my Crafty Retreat held this weekend near Swindon. I will have a candle tutorial up here tomorrow. I’m afraid I can’t share the other project instructions as it wouldn’t be fair on the ladies who came on the day. However, I may well do another class including this style of box – I’ll keep you posted if you’re interested.
