Garden in Bloom for CC&S Design Challenge #174

By | May 19, 2016

I’ve really enjoyed being part of the CC&S team this month and I hope if you’re a regular viewer that you have enjoyed my creations.  This week, Caro had a sketch challenge for us.  I could have created a ton of cards with this combination as they make such a gorgeous colour combination.  Here they are:

CASC&S color174-001 Gorgeous, isn’t it?!

It didn’t take me long to plump for Garden in Bloom – not on the retiring list so no surprise that it will still be in the new Annual Catalogue!  I was delighted when I realised that.

So here is my card.

Stampin Up Garden in Bloom CC&S174-001

I randomly stamped the flower outline in Blackberry Bliss and then slotted in the leaf outline stamp in Lost Lagoon.  I then filled in the leaf with Lost Lagoon on top.  The flower is a three step stamp and just to try a different look, instead of using the full flower fill stamp, I chose to use only the little highlight stamp.  I quite liked the effect, what do you think?

I used the Wink of Stella Glitter pen to watercolour the centre, picking up a little of the Blackberry Bliss. The sentiment is heat embossed in silver on Shimmery White for extra sparkle and I’ve looped some metallic thread behind my punched pieces.

You may notice I have used the Decorative Label punch and there are two sizes…well, not exactly, I have a clever little way to frame the original size of the Decorative Label punch and if you pop back tomorrow, I’ll share that with you.

Until then, happy crafting.

Eimear – I love this card, it’s absolutely beautiful. Great idea to only use 2 of the three flower stamps. I’m so glad that you’re our guest designer this month. Liz x

I like how you’ve just partially filled in the flower petals. The silver really sets off the sentiment from the background. It’s a great card from an awesome guest designer – I’m so glad you’ve been with us at CC&S this month! 🙂
