Hello New Catalogue with a Hello Cupcake Birthday card

By | November 27, 2018

Welcome to the ‘For the Love of Creating with SU’ Blog Hop.  We are a group of demonstrators around the world who come together once a quarter showcasing some fab new products from Stampin’ Up!  You may have arrived from Sarah Fleming or this may well be your first stop but either way, you are very welcome with me, Eimear Carvill, at Stamp in Colour in the UK.

I have chosen to play with one of the Sale-a-bration sets you can receive for free with a £45+ purchase starting in January.  I’ve made a cute Hello Cupcake Birthday card. It is a really fun set that I decided to stamp in Highland Heather.  Highland Heather is also one of colours in our Gingham Gala 6×6 DSP.  It reminded me of tablecloths at a little girl’s birthday party so I thought it would be perfect to team with the Hello Cupcake set for a perfect little girl’s birthday card. Tips and Tricks for my Hello Cupcake Birthday card

  • To add a little dimension I decided to stamp the ‘icing/frosting’ separately.  I then added this to the top of my cupcake with dimensionals.
  • It’s almost impossible to show on a dull December UK day, but I’ve actually highlighted the frosting with the Wink of Stella glitter pen. In real life, it glimmers and shimmers.
  • I also chose to use both Highland Heather and Smoky Slate won th sentiment by the clever help of sticky motes – you could also use our Stampin’ Write markers to achieve this effect.
  • The reverse of the large checked pattern is a very cute small checked pattern – I’ve used this on the banner as an embellishment.

As always I’ve created a list of all the products used with links to my shop.  As the stamp set and DSP is not yet available, I can’t list these but all the other products I’ve used are currently live.  Don’t forget to use the current Rainbow Rewards shopping code at check-out when making an online purchase to receive an extra little gift in the post from me.
