Ice Lollies and Beaches for TGIFC#11

By | July 12, 2015

Weekends are time for me to squeeze in a challenge before class prep or children pull me in other directions.  This time, I’ve entered the sketch challenge I found over on TGIF Challenges.

Here is this week’s sketch.

And here is my entry.
Stampin Up Kinda Ecletic Crazy about you sprinkles of life ice lolly-001

I just want a beach holiday after creating this but we’re not going away this year 🙁

In fact, as you might be able to tell from the light this photo, the weather is pretty poor today. In fact, I just snapped it before the wind blew it over and the rain started – a million miles away from the tropical beach scene I was trying to create! I shouldn’t complain as we have had some lovely weather over the past few weeks, something that can never be taken for granted here in the UK.

How about you? What’s your summer like, or are you reading this in winter?  I’ve seen some strange weather reports from Australia!! Snow on the Gold Coast?! That can’t be a usual occurrence!

Anyway back to my card.  I’ve used a few stamp sets, Kinda Eclectic for my sun, Sprinkles of Life for my clouds and Crazy about You for my sentiment.  The lolly was pretty easy to create.  I partially cut the arc with my Big Shot and some oval thinlits and then used my trimmer to cut down the rest of the lolly.  I used a similar method to create the door on my Secret Garden door and there is a tutorial here.

Hope you like my card, and do leave a comment.  I love to hear from fellow crafters and reply to everyone.

Until next time, happy crafting,

Eimear

This is such a clever interpretation of the sketch! It smacks of summer and is so fun. Great job!
