Lets Get Hopping 42 – Vintage Sweet Strawberry

By | May 17, 2021

This month the Let’s get Hopping team are focusing on returning favourites.  These are stamp sets or bundles that have carried over to the new catalogue and I thought I would highlight the Sweet Strawberry bundle which is STILL available with 10% off! I wanted to show you a different look to this bundle by creating a Vintage Sweet Strawberry patch.

So here is my card, I think you’ll agree that it’s a very different look to the zingy strawberries you may have seen created with this set, but hopefully equally as beautiful.

Tips and Tricks to create this look

  • Firstly I stamped on Very Vanilla instead of Basic White – this totally changes the look
  • By stamping in Early Espresso instead of black, and using Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green as the main colours, the strawberries also take on a more vintage look
  • I sponged some Crumb Cake onto the Very Vanilla which ages the card almost immediately

The card base is Garden Green and there is a hint of an Early Espresso layer just to continue the vintage look.  I also heat embossed the greeting onto Early Espresso cardstock. Some of the elements are punched out and raised to create some texture and depth on the card and I added a few little epoxy embellishments as a finishing touch.

As strawberry season approaches, this is the perfect bundle to embellish your own strawberry themed gifts whether it be jams, jellies or tarts.  Nothing better than home-made in bakes and cards! And nothing better than getting 10% off your purchases too.
