Let’s Get Hopping 7 – Easter Gifts and Home Decor

By | March 1, 2018

Welcome to this month’s Let’s Get Hopping International Blog Hop where we challenged ourselves to make ‘anything but a card’! You may have arrived from Carolyn at Care Bear Stamps or this may well be your first stop but either way, you are very welcome here at Stamp in Colour. I decided that I would make an Easter Home Decor Gift using the Hold on to Hope bundle together with the Large Letters.  I think my parents would really appreciate this as an Easter gift, so am hoping they don’t hop on to my blog in the next few weeks!

Tips and Tricks for my Easter Home Decor project

  • To get the ombre look on my letters, I first stamped into Crushed Curry, then i sponged Calyso Coral onto the lower edge of my letters.
  • I spaced out my letters before I adhered them to my background and I used a ruler to ensure that I had all the letters spaced evenly.
  • The floral stamp was coloured with Stampin’ Write markers before it was die-cut.

Unfortunately I could not find a rectangular Box frame so I just removed the glass from a regular rectangular photo frame.

Of course, Toni, it was a 6×8 frame. I couldn’t find a deep box frame in a rectangular shape so I just removed the glass in a standard frame.

Actually didn’t take too long and I had a toddler with me at the time so not too difficult!

The frame is beautiful! I know your parents will love it! And I really like how you did the Ombre look with the letters. Great technique!

The hardest part was choosing which colours to use but I went for sunrise colours as thought they were most fitting
