Male card using Hardwood for CC&S 175

By | May 26, 2016

This is my final card as guest designer for CC&S this month and Caroline has a great sketch for us. Admittedly, this sketch did stretch the old grey matter but I hope you like what I came up with as I tried a male theme this week.

Here is Caro’s sketch

and here is my male-themed card

Stampin Up Male Hardwood CC&S 175-001

I’ve just noticed on writing this post that I might have my circles going in the wrong direction after I turned the sketch round but hoping Caro will forgive me!

In the UK, we’re not too far away from Father’s Day so I thought I would try and be a little more organised and get ready – so unlike me!  Inspired by wooden beach huts (as we’re off to the beach at half term) I stamped Hardwood first on whisper white with Soft Sky and then again on Whisper White with Sahara Sand. I then placed my circles from the retiring Circles framelits over the Sahara Sand stamped piece and cut out three circles. The final two smaller circles were punched out with the 1/2 circle punch and the Owl Builder Punch.

I then placed my punched out circles over their exact position on the Soft Sky stamped piece.

My sentiment is stamped from Going Global and die-cut from the Project Life framelit set.

All the supplies I used are listed below as always. If you are interested in any of the products, just click on the image and it will bring you straight to my online shop.

Why don’t you have a go and see what you come up with for this sketch?  What do you first think of when you see the circles …  skim over your stamp collection and see what jumps out at you,  then just take it from there…

In other news, our new Annual catalogue goes live on Tuesday June 1st, I’m so excited – are you? Pop back on Saturday for a sneak peak of some brand new items with the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop crew.

Until then, happy crafting,
Eimear

Fab masculine card. I love Harwood, it’s so versatile and I’ve not seen it used like this before. Funny, I didn’t have you down as living in the UK! Thanks for all your guest DT cards this month, it’s been great having you along with us at CC&S

Eimear – this is really striking and so clever. I love the “texture” that you’ve created by using that hardwood stamp. And it’s great to have a Father’s Day card done ahead of time! Liz x

Love the idea that you were inspired by beach huts, they always fascinate me! Great texture stamp too.
