Hello and welcome to this month’s Blog Hop where we are focusing on sneak peaks from the upcoming catalogue. You may have arrived from Sarah or this may well be your first stop, either way you are very welcome. We have some great projects lined up for you this morning, do be sure to hop around us all for some great Christmas card ideas amongst other things.

I always find the transition from Summer to Autumn difficult as I just don’t want to let go of the long evenings and pack away my shorts! However the launch of the new Stampin’ Up Autumn Winter catalogue is always something to look forward to and it is just days away, so don’t worry! There are so many gorgeous things to whet your appetite for the season ahead that you will soon forget about all things summery and will be dusting off your winter woollies with glee.

The set I have chosen this month is called Father Christmas and I must admit it was not on my radar until I saw a gorgeous sampler online and had to add it to my pre-order. I was reading up on the traditions of Father Christmas (or Santa Claus depending on where you are from in the world) and was really interested in the history of his character. He seems an to be an amalgamation of Father Christmas, Sinterklaas, Saint Nicholas and the Greek bishop Myra. He dates back to the 16th Century in England, but was then pictured in green. It is rumoured that he globally changed his clothes to red in the 1930s due to a marketing campaign by a famous drinks company!

So for my card today, I was inspired by Santa images like this

Traditional Santa

and I created a very traditional card of Father Christmas in his original robes.

As you know, Stampin’ Up is renowned for its co-ordination, so it is so easy to have a theme for your gift-giving and create a matching tag using other items in the same stamp set. I’ve used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to create this tag and used the trio of Baker’s Twines that are coming soon to complete the project.

I really enjoyed creating with this set, and I’m looking forward to playing with it some more. If you would like to see how I created the project, especially with how I achieved the aged vintage style of the card, do pop back tomorrow where I have a video showing you how to do it.

In the meantime, I have listed all the products used to create this card – apart from the the stamp set Father Christmas and the baker’s twines – as they are not available to purchase until Thursday. If you would like to purchase any of the other supplies do click on the items and it will bring your straight to my online shop – Adding the current hostess code –  4VXPHWDC – to your order will mean I send you a little gift in the post directly from me as a thank you for choosing me as your Stampin’ Up demonstrator.
