Stampin Creative Blog Hop Feeling Thankful

By | October 28, 2017

Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where our theme is Feeling Thankful.  You may have arrived from Kim or this may well be your first stop this morning, but either way you are very welcome here with Eimear at Stamp in Colour.  I am a demonstrator based just outside Swindon in Wiltshire and am delighted to be showcasing our theme of Feeling Thankful.

I personally have a lot to be thankful for, who doesn’t I suppose? However I am feeling especially thankfully this month. I am currently staying with my parent’s as my mother has just got out of hospital after a 3 week stay and surgery.  Luckily everything went well and things should be getting back to normal very soon.  I am feeing very thankful to have both my parents as healthy as is possible at their age; my father is 90 and my mother isn’t far behind!  I really hope I have inherited their genes in that respect.

So onto my card.  I have used a technique that my fellow Stampin’ Creative teamie, Caro, demonstrated at our recent Craft Retreat using re-inkers and glossy cardstock.  I have used a selection of Autumnal colours and  – sorry – but my absolute favourite set has made yet another appearance!  Of course, it’s Colourful Seasons with the Seasonal Thinlit Dies!! If you haven’t purchased this bundle yet, seriously what are you waiting for?!

So as I’ve said to my parents, Life is indeed a beautiful thing and let’s take advantage of every extra minute we’re given!

Tips and Tricks for Feeling Thankful – the card anyway!

  • To achieve the background, I dropped re-inker droplets in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso onto Glossy Cardstock and then spritzed with water. I used a paper towel to get rid off the excess water and then left it to dry while creating the rest of the card.
  • Always a fan of a bit of bling, I used the Seasonal Layer Thinlits to create my leaves in some gorgeous Gold Foil and embossed my sentiment in Gold .
  • Finally to tie my whole project together I stamped the leaf in Tangerine Tango on Tangerine Tango cardstock

I hope you like today’s project, do please hop on to Louise as I know she will have a fabulous project lined up for you. Our full line-up is listed below, do hop around us all and if you have a spare minute or two, leave us a comment as we love to hear from you.
