Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Step into Christmas

By | November 25, 2017

Welcome to the penultimate Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop of 2017!  What a quick year it has been, it feels like summer is just over and here we are with our Step into Christmas blog hop! Somehow it just doesn’t seem possible…  However, it is indeed the last Saturday of November and here we are in the Stampin’ Creative Christmas themed blog hop. You may have arrived from Caroline at Craft with Caro, or this may well be your first stop, but either way you are very welcome with me, Eimear Carvill at Stampincolour.

Of course, by this stage, you have all your Christmas cards completed and you just have to write them  – don’t worry I’m just joking!! I’m still in the throes of mine, but I am thinking ahead to the gift cards and packaging ideas for teachers, co-workers etc

I’m holding a craft day – probably right as you read this – and I designed this project with both todays Stampin’ Creative Christmas hop and the craft day in mind.  It uses the Tags and Trimmings bundle which is the main product we are using today. Of course the set is made to make a little treat pouch which is perfectly sized to hold a gift card or money. However, I wanted to make an alternative project, in case it needed to be sent in the post and people were worried about it getting crushed.

Tips and Tricks for Today’s Stampin’ Creative Christmas project:

  • For this project, I’ve used Fast Fuse though Tear and Tape is a also an alternative. Either way, a strong adhesive is needed as I have slightly curved the stocking to house the stamped tissue paper and I didn’t want it to pop off the card.
  • The sentiment is coloured with Stampin’ Write markers allowing you to use various colours for the words.
  • When attaching the pocket – only put adhesive along the side so you can slide in your gift card or money – you don’t need to ask me why I’m reminding you of this!!

The die set contains some gorgeous little accents to decorate your stockings from various trims, bells, holly, buttons, stars etc but I opted for this gorgeous snowflake.  It looks so beautiful cut from silver foil.
