Stampin’ Stars Seasonal Blog Hop

By | September 13, 2014

Welcome to the Stampin’ Stars Blog Hop.  This is the first team blog hop that I have taken part in and no pressure, yikes, being sandwiched between Pip from Queen Pip Cards and Emma from Coastal Crafter!!  If you’ve come from either of these two blogs, I’d safely bet you loved their projects.

With no further ado, here is my first project.  The stamp set I have chosen to highlight is one of the few Single Stamp sets in our Seasonal catalogue, Christmas Bauble.  I think it is a beautiful stamp, gives a great, crisp, clean image and whilst beautiful as an outline image is also begging to be coloured in with our Blendabilities range of markers.

Stampin' Up Christmas Bauble Blog Hop 1-001

The technique in this card is called Triple Stamping, as normally we continue the image onto the third layer, but I chose to leave my third layer unstamped, so maybe it could be renamed Double Stamping?? I embossed all the images in gold and coloured my final image with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Blendabilities.

Have you spotted the cherry cobbler rhinestones?  No, we haven’t expanded our range to include coloured rhinestones – I just coloured one in with my Blendabilities markers.  Perfect to colour-match your project, dries instantly and of course, the colour is permanent.

The sentiment is taken from our Promotional set, Good Greetings.  This set is free until October 31st with an order of £200 or more.  You can be the hostess to a party, book a private class (or even put in a personal order) and if your combined sales reach this figure, this set can be yours.  Read more about it here.

My second card is full of Christmas bling.  Christmas is one of the few times of the year when you have every excuse to use maximum sparkle.  Here, I’ve used our Whisper White notelets which are a perfect Christmas card size and very useful to have good quality pre-cut cards on hand when the Christmas rush is upon us.

The background sparkle is very easy to achieve.  Stamp all over the card using your versamark inkpad, sprinkle Heat and Stick powder all over and melt with your heat tool.  Then cover in Dazzling Diamonds and heat set with your heat tool.

I embossed the Christmas Bauble image in silver and then coloured it with Blendabilities markers in shades of Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder and Smoky Slate.  Again, as with my previous card, I have coloured in one of your rhinestones with a Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker.  When I cut out the bauble, I also removed the holly and strategically placed a bow in our silver 1/8 ribbon.

I really hope you liked my projects and it’s given you some food for thought for your own Christmas crafting projects.  If you would like to order any of the products I used, there is a full list below and clicking on any of the items will take you to the item in my online shop.

Please do continue your tour and if you get lost anywhere along the way, here is the full list of everyone participating.  Don’t be shy, do leave me a comment as I would love to know your thoughts on my first ever blog hop.  Come back soon 🙂

Really beautiful Eimear. I especially love the gorgeous colours in the second card – great idea removing the holly for a different look. I think that bauble may just have jumped onto my wish list! And the heat and stick powder! What a really effective background.

Thank you Emma, it is a cute set, isn’t it? Ours could actually have been even more similar, but stuck to this idea in the end! Love yours too, so striking in non-traditional colours!
