Stampin Creative Blog Hop – Summer Dreams

Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where our theme is Summer Dreams.  When I think of Summer, I think of bold and bright colours and I believe our brightest and most beautiful Designer Series paper is found in the Expression in Ink suite.  We have some gorgeous greens, some beautiful oranges and the brightest pink in this Magenta Madness piece!

My July class series featured this gorgeous paper and I coupled it with the fantastic Biggest Wish stamp set.  I just love the Bold capitals paired with the scripted font.

Here are two of my cards from our July series, these were such fun to make and both are made from a single 6 x 6 inch piece of the DSP.

A bright and beautiful Majenta Madness card featuring the gorgeous Expressions in Ink DSP and Biggest Wish stamp set

I think this is one of my favourite DSP pieces in the pack (though it’s pretty difficult to choose – it is SOOOOOO gorgeous!).  This paper has been so popular, it is currently on back order, but coming back into stock this coming week, so if you love it as much as I do, do add it to your next order to secure your pack.

I chose to half emboss the word Thanks in gold once I had stamped it in Magenta Madness. I really like the effect.

Card no. 2…

The second card uses the beautiful floral die as a centrepiece.  It is such a beautiful die and I’ve used it before here with Rainbow Glimmer paper with such a dramatic effect.

You can see how the card looks standing here, it’s such a beautiful effect with the acetate and so easy to make too.

I hope these two cards have given you all the warm fuzzy feels of summer.  Do hop on to our next contributor and see what has inspired them for our Summer Dreams Blog Hop.  I cant wait to hop around everyone as we have such talent from all around the world in this group.  Be sure to leave us a comment if you can, as we do love so much to hear from you.

Until next time, happy crafting

Penguin Playmates are COOL!!

Sunday night, as aways, was Team Challenge night and being such a hot day, I decided our theme would be Cool.  That could have been interpreted any way, from Ice-creams, to Chilled Drinks, to the Seaside, to Cool Colours but I opted for Snow and the very cool Penguin Playmates!!  Here is what I came up with.

I just love these little guys.  This DSP is FREE with a qualifying purchase through August and September and is burting full of cute little characters ;ike the Polar bear and Penguin.

A Cool Christmas card featuring characters and colours from the FREE Sale-a-bration DSP Penguin Playmates available from me with a qualifying purchase in July and Augusts

It co-ordinates with the Penguin Place bundle and I used the Penguin Place stamp set for the sentiment and also to give the little guy a bow tie. So cute!!

The Polar Bear is also fussy cut from the same DSP and the background paper that matches his scarf is also from the same pack.

Facebook Live Replay Video…

You can see exactly how I made these cards by clicking here for the video replay.  They are super quick to make and if you are one of my customers (that didn’t attend my Extravaganza on Friday night) then you will receive one of these with your new catalogues later in the week.

And don’t forget to save the date for my upcoming Crafternoon on Sepetember 18th

I can’t wait to see some of you live and in the flesh after soooo long.  And if you’re too far away or not ready for an in-person event, there will be a to-go option available.

Hope you enjoyed today’s project.  As always, here is a link to my online shop for everything that I used today.  The new products will only go live in August – so the links will not exist until then.  If you can’t wait, you can always join my team and add them to your starter kit now, just sayin’ 😉

Until next time, happy crafting

A Good Man at the Beach

Monday is my day for Facebook Lives – I’m not a natural at going live, but I do love the interaction of those watching. This week was a bit of a cheat as I recreated almost exactly the “A Good Man at the Beach’ project I made the night before t my team Creative Challenge.  I was going to have a practice at a new card idea I had in my head but when I arrived at the school gates with my children, my 6 year old was refused entry as he ha a Covid case in his bubble.  So back home we had to go together, which was NOT in this week’s game plan!!

So onto the project…

Anyway, I added a couple of extra touches but here is my card for this week’s live.

A peaceful beach scene using A Good Man and the masking technique

LAst night my team challenge was a colour one and we used Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Basic Black – there may have been a slight cheat with the Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate for the hair – but it’s so minimal, I hope you’ll forgive me!

The back layer is embossed with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder which I hoped alluded to the beach scene and the sand etc.

The background is created by the masking technique – and the sea line is also created using sticky notes.  You can see exactly how I created it here.

A tutorial for a peaceful beach scene using A Good Man and the masking technique

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial, and my little vocal guest!  You should give this masking technique a try, its so easy to create beautiful card with it.  I mentioned the gnome card in the video, here’s a quick look at it.
