Stampin’ Creative September Blog Hop – Gift Packaging Inspiration

Blog Hop Buttons-001

Didn’t September fly in?!  You may have arrived from Lesley, or this may be your first stop today, either way you are very welcome.  Our theme this month is Gift Packaging.

I must admit, in a previous life, i.e. before Stampin’ Up, I never paid much attention to packaging.  Though I was very appreciative of other people’s efforts, I was the sort who was still shopping on Christmas Eve so an expertly wrapped gift was just never going to happen.

Fast forward to now and with four young children, I can no longer get away with a mad dash round the shops on Christmas Eve so my wrapping has improved somewhat and some of Stampin’ Up’s current tools have made the art of gift wrapping a whole lot easier.

You may remember our blog hop last month where I highlighted the Holly Jolly Greetings and Christmas Greeting Thinlits, you can see it here.

I decided to create some quick and easy packaging ideas to match these cards so first up is my Merry gift bag.

Stampin Up SCBH Sept1-001

I used our Gift Bag Punch Board to create a medium sized bag and simply decorated it with the matching vellum and a Bow made from our Bow Builder Punch.  This is a quick and easy way to jazz up a small gift. You can make three different standard sized bags with the Gift Bag Punch Board following the instructions printed on the board and you-tube will provide you with inspiration on at least a dozen more variations!!

Next up is our Petite Cafe Gift bag. These are ready made bags sold by Stampin’ Up that are lined so food safe.  Perfect to gift your home-bakes, and dare I say it, mince pies!!  There I’ve said it and now I want one already!

Stampin Up SCBH Sept 2-001

I’ve embossed it with the new Softly Falling embossing folder and created tags to match my original card. The sentiment comes from a great set called Versatile Christmas. This set has fantastic sentiments for both the inside and outside of your cards.  And what about that sparkle? Can you ever have too much bling? I might have slightly overdone it in this one however, but I couldn’t resist showcasing that fab ribbon!

Finally a cute little box from the Curvy Keepsake dies.

Stampin Up SCBH Sept 3-001

I’ve used soft sky to match my original Peace card and I’ve used the Sleigh Ride Edgelits to cut out some decorative pieces for the four sides. Finally a little embossed snowflake finishes it off.

Stampin Up SCBH Sept 4-001

Quick and easy creations today because you don’t want to be up wrapping your gifts too late on Christmas Eve and bump into Santa Claus!?!

Pop back soon as I am launching my first Class to Go and these featured cards will be my first class.  As this is my first ever class to go, I will be adding in a little curvy keepsake box as a gift to you to assemble at your leisure.  Details to follow next week.

In the meantime, do continue your tour today and head over to Kim where her creative delights await you.

I did think if you as I was making the bag! They will just have to fall into your basket the next time 😉

First place from your 3 projects is hotly contested Eimear but it just has to go to the blue , you know me and Blue! I would so love to receive mince pies wrapped like this and will be giving some homemade goodies in this way – hadn’t noticed the bags before. The things you learn from you ladies!

There are quite a few hidden treasures in our catalogues. One of those things where you can spot something ‘new’ no matter how many times you read it!

Ahhh so gorgeous – love coordinated cards & packaging – so refined I think! And in your case so uber cute too – although I wish you hadn’t mentioned uses for those bags – now also want a mince pie!!!!!!

Thanks Louise, must admit those sleigh ride edgelits are becoming my new favourite – though I feel like Bruce Forsythe, telling all my new products that they are my favourites!!
