Let’s Get Hopping 6 – Bubble Over His and Hers Cards

By | February 1, 2018

One sketch – Two versions – that’s the challenge for the Let’s Get Hopping team and we hope to inspire you with our His and Hers card sets.  I’ve used Bubble Over from the Spring Summer catalogue to make Pink Lemonade for the ladies and a Birthday Brew for the lads using the exact same layout sketch!

So without further ado, here is my Pink Lemonade card.  Aren’t the straws the cutest thing ever?!  And my environmentally conscious self has, of course, created metal re-usable straws – none of this plastic ending up in the ocean nonsense!!

I’ve used Wood Textures as my background in both cards today and I’ve chosen the more white-washed look for my feminine card.

Here is a close-up so you can see the detail on those bendy straws.

My Male version of this card uses a more manly colour palette.  During my African travels in a previous work life, I have been known to enjoy a refreshing tipple of Star beer and that was the inspiration behind my colour choice.

I thought the Epoxy stickers were a perfect addition to the bottle to mimic the cold beer – and do you like the detail on the bottle caps?

Don’t they look so realistic? I bet you’re secretly thinking about a cold beer now!

Tips and Tricks for my Bubble Over His and Her cards

  • For my Her version, I die-cut the bottles and then sponged the Pink Lemonade with Powder Pink ink
  • For my His version, I stamped the bottles first in Emerald Envy and then die-cut them.
  • In both cases, the bottles are mounted on dimensionals to create a little depth
  • Silver foil is a must for the bottle caps (and the reusable straws!!)

Eimear… your cards are so refreshing (pun intended)!! You have shown just how versatile this stamp set is! I never would have used the wood DSP, but it fits perfectly! Thank you for sharing… and I hope you don’t mind if I CASE your cards. 😉

Love these, the lemonade one is so sweet and love the wood grain. Didn’t really know what to do with that light version.

I must admit it’s only the second time I’ve used it, but works really well with these colours

Eimear, what great cards, the softness of your Her card is amazing, even with the wooden dsp background, and what man wouldn’t love the masculine his card, with unmistakable green beer bottle. Super Cute!

Great cards Eimear! I love the softness of the pink bottles paired with the wood DSP. The “drips” on the bottles are such a great touch!
