I set myself a challenge to do some simple stamping this year. It is a real challenge for me but a challenge that Stampin’ Up! themselves started at our last Onstage, so I had to give it a go. I wanted to do some simple stamping with Amazing Life, which was a set we received in our goody bags last Onstage.
I don’t think my cards or my style is overly complicated but I can tend to use a fair few products on the one creation. This time, I challenged myself to use just the products pictured.
So the products I used were :
- a base of Highland Heather
- Gingham Gala DSP in Highland Heather
- Whisper White for Stamping
- Rhinestone Jewels and Wink of Stella for embellishment
- and the Stamp set Amazing Life
Here is what I came up with
You don’t need any fancy tools – just a trimmer and some paper snips!
Tips and Tricks for my Simple Stamping with Amazing Life
- I felt the base was a little plain so stamped the cake several times in the background in Highland Heather which we call Tone on Tone stamping.
- The sentiment, also from Amazing Life, was stamped in the same colour on a piece of Whisper White
- I stamped the cake too with Highland Heather and then used the Wink of Stella pen to watercolour parts of the Icing image. I feel this really brings the cake to life
- Finally this was raised onto a piece of Gingham Gala DSP which was cut into a banner shape.
- A couple of Rhinestones finished off the card with a little more sparkle.
Its difficult to show the shimmer from the Wink of Stella in photo on a dreary January day – even with editing!!
