Stampin’ Up – Private Card Class

By | January 24, 2015

I had a private card class last night for my lovely hostess, Nora.  She had requested we make a medley of cards that she could recreate with her children as she likes to make Thank you’s and Birthday cards with them.  So I was happy to oblige!

The first one I shared  on my Facebook page last night, it uses Little Buddy Birthday – which is my favourite set to go for when I am making cards for my own kids’ friends.  I’ve coloured in the Little Toucan with our Blendabilities range of alcohol markers.  I just edged the Whisper White piece with the scoring tool from my trimmer for a little subtle embellishment.

Next up is a Thank you card using washi tape. Our washi tape is great and this selection comes in a pack of 3. It is great quality, and you can even stamp on it. I’ve just ripped the edges here, or you could trim them neatly with scissors. I’ve stamped and punched a flower from Flower Shop and using the Pansy Punch and added a little sparkle with a few jewel rhinestones.

My third card is another Birthday card, this time using the brand new Bow Builder punch. Now this might be a little fiddly for children depending on their ages, but they will definitely love the punching out part! I’ve used the Sweet Dreams DSP collection for the bows and I’ve embossed the Whisper White piece with the Polka Dots embossing folder.

My final thank you card uses the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. This one is great for children as there is no particular rhyme or reason to the splodge placement! My kids love this particular set and it makes them feel like an artist when they create with it. The colours I chose are three colours from our Brights Collection, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Daffodil Delight.

It was a fun evening for me so hoping that everyone that came got some ideas for their own cardmaking endeavours!

Here is a list of everything I used to make the cards – beware, with four very different cards, it’s a long list!

I hope you enjoyed today’s selection of cards.  Don’t forget, if you would like to book your own private class, just get in touch. Like Nora’s class, it can be suited to your own particular theme.

Until next time, happy crafting!
