Stampin’ Creative February Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome to our Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop for February!

You may have arrived here from my good friend, Lesley Lendon’s blog (no pressure following her fab creative project then!!) or you may just be starting your tour with mine. Either way, enjoy!

This time we are creating projects based around a sketch and here it is…

I decided to flip the sketch for both my projects and have created two very different cards; one using products from our Annual Catalogue and the other using products from our new Spring/Summer Catalogue.

Here is my first card:

Feb Blog Hop Fine Feathers and Perfect Pennants-001

My colours are Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Pool Party – a colour combination I am very partial to! I’ve used the Decorative Dots embossing folder on my piece of Very Vanilla.  Then I’ve used the Perfect Pennants set for my sentiment and also my Spots and Stripes.  The feathers come from the Fine Feathers set and are cut out with the matching framelits.  This set featured in our Autumn/Winter catalogue but is still available in the Returning Favourites section of my Online Shop.  I’ve used some of our gorgeous Linen Thread on one of our Very Vintage Designer Buttons.  You can see some of our fab Burlap ribbon in the background with a strip of a retired ribbon over it – apologies for using a product that is no longer available!  However, we have a very similar current ribbon which would work just as well, if not better, and is called Venetian Crochet Trim.

My second card has a totally different feel and is based around a colour combination of Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White – with just a hint of Daffodil Delight.

Feb Blog Hop Painted Petals-001

My background is created with the gorgeous Painted Blooms DSP – where I got my colour inspiratiom from –  and then I’ve used the co-ordinating stamp set Painted Petals – (must admit, I’m a bit in love with this set!) – on my circle, plus an extra set that I’ve fussy cut and attached a cute little Pacific Point button from the Brights Buttons Collection. The sentiment is punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and all my pieces are adhered with dimensionals.

All of the products mentioned are available from my online shop and as we are still in the midst of the best ever promotion, ‘Sale-a-bration,’ every £45 you spend will earn you a free item from our Sale-a-bration brochure.  There are several other ways you can benefit during this fantastic promotion, just have a read here to find out more.

I hope you like this month’s projects and that we have give you a little inspiration for your own cardmaking supplies. Do leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. It’s always lovely to hear from you, so don’t be shy.

Don’t forget to continue your tour, next on the hop is the wonderfully talented Emily Thomson. I’m looking forward to seeing what she has up her sleeve this month. Just click below to reach her blog.

Aw thanks, Pip. Ever since I started sketch challenges, (which isn’t that long!), I always seem to flip them!! Not quite sure why?!

Thank you so much Tracy, yes the first one is quite a touchy-feely one – what with the burlap, the lace and the embossed piece!

I know what you mean Liz, I can be guilty of stroking the petty DSP and not using it!! Trick is to buy 2 packs and then you have enough to not feel guilty about cutting into it lol

I love the use of the feathers and the colour combination in your first card. And the second really demonstrates just how different cards can be, inspired by the same sketch.

Eimear, these are both beautiful … I love the twist of the card stock and the clever use of the flowers as the banner shape … beautiful x

I must use buttons more often on my cards – and stop opening the little jars and admiring them!!
