The Let’s Get Hopping team are taking up Stampin’ Ups #simplestamping challenge with our hop this month. When you hop around us all, you will see some #simplestamping ideas for Thank you cards, Birthdays and even Valentines. We don’t do Valentines here in the UK like in other countries. You can give a card to your husband/wife, girlfriend/boyfriend or when you were school age, your secret crush, but we don’t tend to give them to anyone else. For this reason, I haven’t invested in Valentines products per se, but I couldn’t resist an All my Love simple stamping project. The DSP is gorgeous and uses Lovely Lipstick, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo amongst other colours. It’s not just for Valentines Day as many of the patterns are floral, however I’ve chosen a fairly “Love themed’ pattern.
So without further ado, here’s my #simplestamping project. It is very #simplestamping indeed, in fact the only stamping is the sentiment.
I made a co-ordinating treat bag from the Acetate card boxes. I’ve lined it with the same DSP pattern and added another little stamped banner – from the same Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.
And here they are together. – perfect size for a couple of heart shaped chocolates.
Tips and Tricks for my All My Love Simple Stamping Project
- As the pattern is quite busy, I wanted a lot of white space to balance it out. My card base measures 5.5 square inches. I’ve used the off-cut when I trimmed my A4 to 5.5 inches to make the inner square! Waste not, want not, as my dear Mum would say.
- The little heart is fussy cut from the DSP itself and I’ve placed the banner over it. I had planned for it to be central, but I preferred it in the lower right – I thought it just added something special.
- As the card is so simple, I’ve used quite a few dimensionals for some visual interest, so this is definitely one for hand delivery!
- As with all things SU there is the perfect colour- co-ordinating ribbon to match for the bag handles.
