I do love family birthdays but there is always a little part of me that is a bit sad that my boy is growing up! He just turned 7 and of course we had our usual family creative time where I helped his sisters to make him some birthday cards!
I am particularly proud of my daughter’s card – all her own idea – based on the Mario brothers. The kids were given a Wii for Christmas along with a Mario game which they are loving playing together and this was the inspiration for her card.
Luigi is inside a bubble – this may mean something to you if you have any knowledge of the game – I haven’t a clue and had to be educated!! Even when it is on in the background, my eyes just glaze over that sort of thing!
My youngest daughter is only 4 so she needed a lot more help. We turned to our Demonstrator magazine for some inspiration and she chose a card she liked the look of and we recreated it together – it had to have strawberry and lemon ice cream as those are the flavours my son likes!
Finally, here is the card I made for my son – it is loosely based on his party invitations, which you nay have seen if you follow me on Instagram though I changed up the colours.
And a close-up…
I’ve used the Confetti Start punch together with the Duet Banner Punch on this card and my colours are Night of Navy, Whisper White and Silver Foil.
The cards were all a big hit with the Birthday Boy but I have to admit, the Mario card was the favourite!
