I’ve really gotten quite a kick out of scrapbooking my favourite photos recently. I don’t know about you, but I like to scrapbook a particular favourite photo and use a memories and More pocket scrapbook system for a series of photos. I know a lot of people do one or the other, but I like to mix and match. That’s the beauty of scrapbooking, there is no right or wrong way, just your way! For this particular photo of my daughter looking out to sea, I’ve created a Come Sail Away Memories and More Scrapbook page. I have some more photos taken that day and I plan to make the other half of my ‘double page layout’ using the Pocket page system. I’ll share that with you when I have it completed.
Tips and Tricks for my Come Sail Away Memories and More Scrapbook Page
- I’ve used the gorgeous Comes Sail Away DSP to pick up on the Haulbowline Lighthouse just seen in the distance.
- The larger lighthouse is fussy cut from one of the Memories and More cards and the words are taken from the accessory kit included in the set.
- I almost didn’t use the stamp set, but I just wanted a little something in the corner so I stamped the birds in Whisper White Craft Ink.
- To mimic the waves coming to shore, I ripped the Night of Navy cardstock and sponged the edges in Whisper White Craft Ink.
- My journalling is hidden in a pull-through tag just under the photo.
Sometime I prefer to hide my journalling. Sometimes what I write is private so I do like having the option of hiding it. Raising the photo on dimensional and being able to slide the photo underneath is a perfect solution.
I hope you liked today’s layout and gives you the motivation to print off your photos and get them in an album. After attending a funeral of a family member yesterday where the family had some albums on display, it really made me value what I do with my photos even more.
Here is everything I used on today’s page. The Come Sail Away with me products will be available to everyone on June 4th – not long now! As always, don’t forget to use my current Rainbow Rewards Shopping code pictured below at checkout and as a thank you, I will send you a little gift in the post directly from me.
Until next time, happy crafting
