Today I am joining my first ever Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop where we are featuring the fabulous Flowering Cactus Product Medley.
I held an event a little while ago featuring this medley and I thought I would share one of the cards we created during the event. You can see another card I made here, but for now here is my Flowering Cactus Birthday Card.
The papers (48 sheets of 6 x 6 DSP) are simply gorgeous designs of cacti, florals and abstract patterns. The colours are Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Highland Heather and Calypso Coral. I’m sure if you hop around everyone today you will see many of these gorgeous papers being featured.
I’ve chosen one of the more abstract designs for my card as a background and softened it with some vellum.
The little felt flowers make the perfect addition to the card as cactus blooms – aren’t they just perfect?
I’ve used one of the larger cacti images from the DSP but you could also use the stamp set to create cacti in any colour you want. The champagne rhinestones, while not included in the product medley, are a perfect accent. This is also my sneaky way of attaching my vellum piece as the extra glue dots are hidden behind the rhinestones to keep the edges down.
I hope you enjoyed my project today, do hop around to see what everyone else has created with this kit, I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait!
Until next time, happy crafting,
Eimear
And finally…
To follow is a list of everything I’ve used to create today’s project, Click on any item to bring you straight to my shop. Don’t forget that during Sale-a-bration you can add any Level One item from the SAB brochure to your order with a £45 purchase or any Level Two with a £90 purchase. This Product Medley can also be added to a starter kit or even a 50% off item – let me know if you need any further information on any of these options.
Great card – the vellum works really well on top of the DSP – love it!
Great way for using the DSP. I had a hard time sticking those little flowers onto my project. What did you use?
I used our Tombow – I held it a little until the glue set and then it was fine
