This morning on my weekly Facebook Live, I decided to make a Valentine’s card. Problem was, I didn’t have any of this year’s fabulous Valentines products. This challenged me to look at my existing products with new eyes. Did I have something that would work in a Valentine’s setting…. so I decided that the Cactus in the Flowering Cactus medley worked well as a heart shape – so here is my Flowering Cactus Valentine.
I made this card firstly on my team challenge last night and then I made a slightly different version today.
I’ve used my favourite SAB DSP, Oh So Ombre – which I’ve just heard has sold out in the States – so if this is your favourite, don’t delay, not sure how long it will last in Europe.
I’ve also used the stamp set, Lovely You and the Love You More Than dies. Aside from that, the card is fairly simple and as you can see from my video this morning, it didn’t take too long to make either.
And the more feminine version in Rococo Rose…
I made a different coloured version on the video, using one of the other colours in the Oh So Ombre DSP. This version was made with Rococco Rose, I guess you could say one was my MAsculine version and one my Feminine version as I included some vellum. The Rococco Rose looks more soft and feminine with the addition of the vellum, don’t you think?
I also dded some sparkle to the Lettering with my beloved Wink of Stella. It is just the PERFECT embellishment to any project.
I hope you can see the delicate sparkle here in the picture above.
And finally here are the two colours together, which one is your favourite?
I do hope it will encourage you to discover the versatility of some of your purchases and to see beyond their original purpose.
Here is a list of all the products I used to crreate these two cards
