Welcome to this months Let’s Get Hopping hop where we are focusing on the theme of Christmas Gifts. You may have arrived from the lovely Nina or this may well be your first stop, but either way you are very welcome, with me, Eimear, a UK demonstrator based in the Cotswolds.
So onto my project. I have bought a couple of candles as gifts from the lovely Jane at Bougies D’Aquitaine who has a regular stall at our local Farmers Market. (Unfortunately she can no longer hold a stall there as we are in quarantine so do check out her FB page). Now whilst Jane does package them in a pretty box tied up with a bow, I wanted to take the packaging up a notch and was totally inspired by a recent project made by our very own Mikaela.
The fragrance of the candle I purchased was ‘Beau Sapin’ which is a gorgeous Christmas tree fragrance – second only to her Orange aux Epices (which is AMAZING!!). So as the fragrance is Beau Sapin, I just had to use the Pine Tree punch.
I created a little box in Very Vanilla for the candle to sit in and then a little window box in Garden Green which slides over the candle and the base.
I punched a tree out from each of the 4 sides and slid some of the GORGEOUS Forever Gold Laser Cut Speciality paper behind the aperture on 2 of the sides. The other sides I inlaid a Gold punched tree in the aperture.
Decoration of my Christmas Gift
I used a few layering circles in Gold, Garden Green and some DSP from ‘Tis the Season to decorate the top, together with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas set. A final bow in our Gold edged Metallic Ribbon was just enough to embellish it.
Of course no Christmas gift is complete without a matching greetings card and I used all the same supplies to make a matching card.
Of course as I mentioned before I have our very own Let’s Get Hopping team member, Mikaela, to thank for the inspiration behind this card. I do love our Stampin’ Up Community where we continually inspire each other with our sharing of ideas.
Speaking of which, do hop on to my inspiration, Mikaela, to see how she has interpreted this month’s theme of Christmas Gifts. Please hop around the rest of the group and leave us a comment to let us know what you think of our projects, we do so love to hear from you.
If you would like to make a purchase of any of the products I have used this month, or any others that take your fancy in the catalogues, then do please use the current host code located in the side bar. I have listed everything I’ve used on todays project in the graphic below. If you click on any of the items, it will bring you straight to that item in my shop.
Happy browsing!!

Thank you so much Rachael
Beautiful projects Eimear. I love your colour choices for these. Glad to see that my previous inspiration inspired a little tough here. … looks great!! xx
I fell in love with your heart card! and it stayed with me when I thought about this project
Beautiful! Love the apertures, great use of the gold laser cut paper!
I have our lovely Mikaela to thank for the idea!
Such a sweet matching set Eimear, the Garden Green, Very Vanilla and Gold are just stunning, I just wish I could smell the candle.
Maybe one day they will invent ‘smell-a-vision’ – until then you’ll have to take my word for it that it smells just gorgeous!
Beautiful thanks for Sharing xx
thank you Teresa
