The Let’s Get Hopping team are hopping again today and this month’s theme is Memory Keeping. There are many different ways you can preserve your memories, whether scrapbooking, using Memories and More pocket pages or even creating your own albums from scratch. For this month, I decided to make a Rooted in Nature scrapbook page.
Rooted in Nature is not the only stamp set I’ve used, you may noticed another one, which is the fabulous Artisan Textures. I love it and this will be my new Gorgeous Grunge – if you’re old enough in Stampin’ Up! terms to remember that one.
Tops and Tricks for my Rooted in Nature Scrapbook page
- Firstly find a couple of colours that match or co-ordinate with your photo – in my case, I used Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive.
- Decide on where you will place your photos and then layer up your background with texture and leaves in your choice of colours.
- To add some visual interest, I added a panel of Wood Textures on the left. This DSP is 6 x 6 but I added a date to hide the join. I also added a strip of Copper Foil as an interesting edge.
- When I was first ordering from the new catalogue, I didn’t think I needed the matching framelits – can’t wait to get them and maybe add a little more texture and dimension to this page.
For a three photo layout, the sentiment from Rooted in Nature ‘Be Strong, Be Happy, Be You’ was just perfect. I cut up the sentiment and attached one section to each photo. Perfect sentiments for my little guy!
Do hop to the next blog, I can’t wait to see what Jennifer has in store for us.
As always here is a full list of everything I use on today’s project. Don’t forget to use my Rainbow Rwwards Shopping Code when making a purchase to receive an extra gift in the post from me.
Such a lovely page Eimear, lovely subtle colours, and this stamp set teamed up with wood textures match so perfectly.
Thanks for the tip about connecting the 6×6 paper….brilliant and so simple. This layout wants me to pull out my old olive and some other greens to get stamping with rooted in nature.
Thanks Jennifer – opens up a world of possibilities when you can include 6×6!
Wow. Love love love this page. That Wood Texture DSP and Copper foil is a beautiful touch and your little guy is gorgeous
Thanks so much Tanya!
Your page makes me want to find pictures from my own stash and copy your layout exactly! OMGosh so pretty! I love every element on the page, but I especially love the contrast between the wood textures paper and copper foil paper. Brilliant!
