Welcome back to the December round of Let’s Get Hopping where are theme is working with small stamps. These can be tricky to work with but I’m sure once you’ve hopped round us all, these will be the first stamps you reach for in your collection. You may have arrived from Verity Biddlecombe at Pretty Little Button or this may well be your first stop, but either way you are very welcome with Eimear at Stamp in Colour.
I needed a Baby card recently for a good friend and I thought I would work this small stamp challenge into my card. My 9 year old was making cards alongside me and said it reminded her of a little girl’s pretty bedroom – this was exactly the look I was going for as I was inspired by classic Cath Kidston styles!!
Tips and Tricks for Creating a Small Stamp Background
- Make sure you have an appropriate sized block to use with your small stamps – this will make all the difference in your stamping
- Use the largest stamp first and stamp randomly all over the card
- Fill in the gaps with the next largest stamp – I stamped the leaf image twice together
- Finally stamp with your smallest stamp – for this card, I used the leaf stamp on its own
I coloured the floral images with our Stampin’ Blends – so easy for light and shade on floral images. I also highlighted all the blooms with Wink of Stella – it just adds that perfect finishing touch. You can just about see the glimmer in this image.
This set is a brand new set from our Spring Summer Catalogue and due to launch on January 3rd. It contains lots of different sized hearts and is perfect for Valentines day, Weddings, Engagements or you can adapt it to a variety of other occasions as I’ve done here with the floral small stamps.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project, do hop on to Carolynn Sander as I’m sure she has a fabulous project to share with you.
Here are all the other products I’ve used the are currently available – mark your calendars for January 3rd when the new catalogue is launched and product such as Hearts and Happiness will be available!
Until next time, happy crafting
