I do love a bit of punch art. In fact, my children birthday cards usually involve some sort of punch art and this year my little one’s card was no exception. I had a quick look at Pinterest for some inspiration and found this fabulous card for a Punch Art Pirate . I decided to create my own version and here is the result.
Tips and Tricks for my Punch Art Pirate
- The anchor is from the retired set Guy Greetings but everything else is currently available.
- I’ve found the little round dies in Swirly Scribbles to be really useful for noses and ears – I’ve used them recently for some rabbit cheeks and noses in Easter treat boxes too.
- The little leaves in Swirly Scribbles also make a great moustache AND good ties for my pirate headband.
- I’m not so fond of the colour Petal Pink but it is a great flesh colour and you can see it here in my pirate face
- To age my scroll, I’ve sponged the edges with Crumb Cake – I also made a couple of little snips on the edgeswith my paper.
I love creating cards for the children – and they love creating cards for each other. One more birthday this year and I’ve already got some great ideas – watch this space!
Obviously with the scroll, this card is probably best hand-delivered but it only had to pass across the kitchen table for my now 4 year old – 4?!? – where did that time go?! He attended his first Stampin’ Up event with me at 6 weeks old, and then we travelled to Brussels together for Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live when he was 6 months old. He’s been such a part of my Stampin’ Up journey and is quite a good little stamper for his age! I love having him with me in my craft room – Do you like to create with your family?
