Welcome to our very first Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop and welcome to my blog. I am Eimear Carvill, a UK based demonstrator. I’m a fairly new convert to Scrapbooking but loving it so far and jumped at the chance to show you my take on this months’ sketch. I chose my photo first and based my choice of supplies around this photo. It was taken after we hung a swing from the trees in my parents garden. It should come as no surprise that I created a Rooted in Nature Summer scrapbook page. Here is the sketch we are all working from this month… and here is what I came up with…
Tips and Trick for my Rooted in Nature Summer Scrapbook Page
- I almost always choose my photo first with the supplies and colours I use chosen to co-ordinate with the photo. With a full range of 53 colours in Stampin’ Up’s palette, it’s really easy to colour co-ordinate your projects.
- I started with my photo and cut it to the size I wanted and cut a coordinating mat in Melon Mambo to match with my daughters outfit. I have cut an identical sized piece Whisper White piece and Melon Mambo for the other side.
- My title is cut using the Large Letter Framelits again in Melon Mambo and smaller pieces across the bottom though in matching widths.
- I decorated the Whisper White pieces with the embossed leaves and I used the Tree and Leaf stamps and cut out the pieces with the matching framelits.
The embossed leaves in the background is a very delicate touch but really effective. ‘June 2014’ is stamped using the Make a Difference stamp set in Old Olive. There is no journaling yet, but I’ve left a space where I will add my memories of this day. I have a few other photos of my other children trying out the swing for the first time, so will probably have a matching Memories and More page on the other side.
I do love this bundle and have already used it in a scrapbook page, you can see it here. Do hop along round the rest of the group and if you have a moment, leave us a comment we love to hear what you think of our projects.
