Another month has passed and school’s out for summer! You may have arrived from Kim’s blog, and if you did you are very welcome. If you arrived straight here, you are also very welcome and hope you are having a great Saturday so far. This month we have made ‘Summer lovin ‘ our theme and I thought I would show you a quick and easy card. I got the idea of the frosted glass from a summer sampler I spotted on Pinterest by Joyce Lowe – I’m not sure if Joyce has a blog…
My base card is Watermelon Wonder, how can you not use a colour named Watermelon Wonder in a summer themed card?! I chose this piece of DSP from the Cherry on Top paper stack as it reminded me of waves crashing on the shore of a tropical beach. Of course, you’d need an iced drink on such a beach and to recreate that, I’ve sponged a piece of vellum in shades of Tangelo Twist, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry.
My next project is a Project Life layout using Lets Get Away card collection. I just love this system of Memory keeping and am enjoying making up albums of past summer holidays.
I apologise for the reflection on my photos – not quite sure how to avoid the plastic reflecting…
I’ve used the Let’s Get Away card Collection and the Let’s Get Away accessory pack. I’ve used a fabulous little card over the top of the sun card that gives a hint of sky colour…
And there is another one over my Beach Babe photo and the beautiful balconies…
Such an easy system – you don’t even need adhesive – slot your 6×4, 4×4 or 3×4 photos directly in the pockets or if you wish to trim them, just adhere with the washi in the accessory pack like here.
When is the last time you printed your photos? I’ve read that our children are one of the most photographed generation ever, yet they will have nothing to pass on to future generations as no one bothers to print out their photos any more. I’ve so many photos to get through but it’s a really fun way to organise them! I’ve put a few extra filler cards in this layout as my final layout will include some beach photos of me – and I’m not revealing those to the world wide web!! Another perk of Project Life, you can slot photos or cards in and out if you change your mind on the layout!
If you are local to me, I am holding a Mum and Me class on September 1st where you and your little one can create an album of your summer memories. There are more details on my Class Calendar page but do get in touch if you’d like any further information.
Here are all the details of the products I used firstly in my card, and then on the Project Life layouts.

absolutely genius idea for that card with the drink you clever lady! And I’m on a PL mission too – started an album for Grace, must do one for George and then to start on the family holidays! I love how simple a system it is though and your layouts are inspiring! 😉
Thanks, Louise – One suitcase out of three contains PL stuff this holiday! On a mission not to get so behind with little Finn!
Beautiful photo PL layout – among the best I’ve seen. Yes, I may have seen a glass on a card before but not quite in the way you’ve done it. The DSP is the perfect choice – such a clever use of the stamp to make the lemon! DEFINITELY wouldn’t have thought of that. Did you curve your glass slightly?xxx
I hadn’t actually curved it – but you’ve given me good for thought – might try that next time!!
Love the clever glass 🙂
Thank you Claire 😊
Inspired by your project life layout- thank you
Thank you Pat, it is quick and easy once you get started – and so many ways to get cheap or even free photos!
What clever use of DSP, I absolutely love the card … it’s brilliant and would make wonderful Summer Party Invitations. I totally agree about memory keeping. We have an abundance of photos on our digital devices and they seldom get printed off, but It’s something I’ve started doing since the introduction of Project Life by Stampin’ Up! I adore your layouts and what wonderful memories to keep and look back on. Thanks for sharing such personal memories of your family with us x
Thanks Mikaela, I loved your album too, so easy with the PL products and am now passionate about getting people to get photos off their devices. I love looking at old family albums and was so sad that my own children didn’t have access to these sort of memories, but am changing that with PL and SU!
Love the card , But your little cutie has stolen the show, what fabulous memories for her to keep,…
Thanks Kim – my kids are like clones – it could be any one of them!!
Love the “project life” layouts. Awesome! All of my photos are on my iPhone which is no use to anyone apart from me, but I am going to print them off and put them in my project life album and give it to friends and family as birthday and Christmas presents. What a great present, much better than a pair of socks.
Thank you!! Project Life is such a great system – your friends and family will really appreciate your Christmas gifts 😉
Fab projects! I can’t wait to do some summer scrapbooking, I think your slice of orange will be making an appearance in my albums very soon.
Thanks Emma! I have quite a lot of photos to get through (approx. 6 years worth!!) – thank goodness for a quick and easy system!
