We have a brand new look for the 2017 Stampin’ Creative Blog hop and hope you enjoy hopping around us all this morning. You have arrived at Stamp in Colour with me, Eimear Carvill. I am a demonstrator based just outside Swindon, in Wiltshire.
Our theme this month is Wildlife and as we are awaiting the arrival of a little baby boy in our family… pretty much any day now… I thought I would practise a card for him. I am little superstitious, so I will probably make another one rather than use this particular one but it certainly got me in the ‘zone’ of baby boy cards!
I’ve used the Fox Builder Punch and A little Fox DSP as my ode to Wildlife. My idea was to create a patchwork quilt background by using the Stitched Framelits, which by the way are BACK in STOCK. I have to admit to being addicted to using them on nearly every project!!
I’ve made a spinner card and have some little bootees spinning around my cute little fox. These are super quick to create especially when using the Sliding Star Framelit sets. The trick to getting the correct spin for these cards is where you place your dimensionals. You need the cardstock to have enough support but you don’t want them to be too close to the edge and therefore block the spinning mechanism – I used 2 x 5ps as my spinning mechanism.
Now as I threw rather a lot of product at my first card, I wanted to show you how easy a card can be to make, with just a little DSP, washi tape and a stamp set. The DSP this time, is Party Animal – back to our Wildlife theme – and I edged it with the coordinating Party Animal Washi Tape. Wish Big comes from our Birthday Bright stamp set – some gorgeous words and fonts in there, you will love it! It co-ordinates with our Birthday Bright Project kit but I’ve used it rather a lot on its own as January and February are Birthday Bonanza months in our house!
I do hope that you enjoyed my Wildlife themed projects this morning, don’t forget that we are in the middle of Sale-a-bration 2017, and every £45 you spend will earn you a FREE sale-a-bration product. If your wish list is as long as mine (I never get to the end of my with list!!), then do consider joining my team of Aces and Diamonds, where you can choose the contents of a starter kit valued at £130 but just costing you £99, PLUS you can add a further two stamps set of any value AND you wont pay any delivery charge!! Get in touch for more details.
Here are the products I used in today’s projects.
