I wanted to take part in a challenge so I teamed up the Colour Challenge over at TGIF with the sketch challenge at Fab Friday. Here were the challenges…
When I saw the colours, my first reaction was Halloween and Autumn and then I had a flashback to the décor in my childhood home. My own childhood bedroom was Pumpkin Pie, my sister’s room next door was Rich Razzleberry and my parent’s on the other side was pretty much Old Olive. The challenge started to look more and more 70’s to me and that’s what made me think of That Thing You Did. So in homage to our childhood bedroom’s, here’s my card!
I’ve started with a base of Rich Razzleberry, and then used the DSP from Farmer’s Market – I’m sure I had a shirt just like that growing up too! – then to match the DSP I’ve used Very Vanilla. I clear embossed the ‘You’re so Vintage’ and sponged over it in Pumpkin Pie. To finish it off, I’ve stamped the ‘Happy Birthday’ in Rich Razzleberry and added co-ordinating candy dots.
I hope you like it and that it might transport you back to your own childhood or your younger days.
Here is everything I used on the card…

What a great combination of these two challenges! This card is really great – and the colors perfectly match this retro stamp set. Love it! Thank you so much for playing along with this Fab Friday sketch challenge!
Thanks Brian, delighted you like it!
I didn’t even notice that these colors were perfect representations of the 70s but it’s true! I love how you thought of this stamp to link it to the colors. Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
Thanks Amanda! We had quite the colourful house!!
