This week’s challenge at the Global Design Project is a colour challenge. Fresh Fig, Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron. I’m typing this up on my phone as my computer has died so not sure how to copy across the GDP graphic, hence the list of challenge colours. When I saw these colours I immediately thought of Tropical Chic.
Here was what I came up with
Tips and Tricks for my Tropical Chic Challenge Card
- I used Mint Macaron as my card base and stamped some leaves and patterns on th base.
- This striped pattern was continued on my Stitched Circle framelit
- My flowers are stamped in Grapefruit Grove and the edges were sponged in Fresh Fig. I stamped off first not scrap paper as the colour was very dark and I preferred the lighter shade that stamping off gives.
- The flowers were cut out with the matching framelits which are available in a bundle with a 10% saving.
- I stamped the greeting on the circle but cut out the word ‘greatest’.
- Finally some Grapefruit Grove ribbon was looped around the back with a few rhinestones to embellish.
Using two different colours on the flowers makes them seem all the more tropical to me, what do you think?
