Colouring Embossing Paste is so Easy!

By | May 21, 2019

I had this idea in my head for a while and today was the day I decided to get inky!  I saw a Pinterest page that I loved and wanted to do something similar for this fab photo of my little girl jumping in the air. Instead of just using a stamp in the background I really wanted to give colouring embossing paste a try. It’s super easy and really effective.

Tips and Tricks for Colouring Embossing Paste

  • First of all, you obviously need the ink refills of your chosen colours.  If you’re only using a tiny bit of paste in a small area, you could possibly get away with scribbling some ink with markers on the silicone craft sheet and blending into the paste.  For this project, I was using quite a bit of paste as I wanted texture too, so the refills were necessary.
  • As mentioned above, a silicone craft sheet is a must to eliminate mess.  The paste dries fairly quickly so you don’t want it to start drying on your block.
  • A drop or two of the ink refill is all you need – the more you add the more intense the colour is.  Mix it up with your palette knife and spread it where you want on your project.
  • I haven’t used them here but the Party Masks are fab for different effects

I used some Rectangle stitched dies  – such a fun effect –  you can see it used recently on another page here.  The black rhinestones are now retired, but colouring normal rhinestones with a black sharpie would work just as well if you don’t have any.

My Hello was sponged with Night of Navy Ink.  It was left over from an old Embossing card kit.

And finally…

I hope you liked today’s page If you would like to purchase any of the supplies I used, they are pictured below. I forgot to include the ribbon in my list below – a lack of navy ribbon was no obstacle for me – the Night of Navy blends came to the rescue.  Simple enough to do, just colour in the ribbon with the Blends!

As always, don’t forget to use my current Rainbow Rewards Shopping code for May pictured below at checkout and as a thank you, I will send you a little gift in the post directly from me.

Until next time, happy crafting
