Cross of Hope Sympathy Cards

By | January 20, 2019

I made a batch of sympathy cards recently and thought I would share them with you. Some of the products used are now retired (DSP and ribbon) but are easily swapped out for current products, or products in your own stash.

This DSP in Berry Burst was in our 2017-2018 catalogue but I loved the Ombre look. We have similar papers in this years catalogue, or you could achieve a similar look in the colour of your choice with a sponge brayer. I thought it paired well with our gold foil.

I made a second version using the recently retired Frosted Florals DSP and picked out the Tranquil Tide as my accent colour.

And finally a close up.

Tips and Tricks for Cross of Hope Sympathy cards

if using a strip of DSP, pick out your accent colour of choice – in my case I chose Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide.

For a bit of visual interest, mount your cross on a punched out or die cut piece in your chosen colour

To create a border between my DSP and the rest of the cord, I chose to lay down some ribbon – the ribbon I’ve used is now retired. Either co-ordinate with your cross or one of the colours in your DSP.

Finally to glance the card, I’ve added the sentiment in the bottom right corner. This is from Itty Bitty Greetings and just the perfect size for the Classic Label punch.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and are inspired to get some cards ready made in your stash. Given the past 6 months of my life, I know that these type of events unfortunately happen way too often and most unexpectedly.

Until next time, happy crafting
