I saw the most gorgeous card online by US demo Cindy Westerink. It’s not a new fold, but her Double Gate Fold jogged my memory as to how fun this fold could be and I thought we could recreate it for my Sunday challenge with my team of Aces and Diamonds.
I had such fun playing with the design, I wanted to share it on my Monday FB Live. It was great to chat live with those watching and this time. I had some great suggestions on colour and placement etc from the ladies who were watching live. I think, together, we came up with a really pretty card!
The Gate Fold is a super easy card to make and takes great advantage of the fact our DSP is double-sided. The card opens up like you see pictured below. For tis particular version, I chose to make a belly band to keep it shut.
Here’s a close-up of the Belly Band and where I added the finishing touch to my flowers with a champagne rhinestone. I did perform surgery on my flowers as I felt the bloom was ver-powering for my card – but you can see all that in my video.
As the cards are so quick to make, I made another version using the Beauty of the Earth DSP. This time I used the stamp set Biggest Wish. It is a really fun set to work with and it’s the set I will be using for our July Cards and a Cuppa.
Changing up the paper ives the card a totally different feel, don’t you think?
