Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where our theme this month is April Showers. This month we are joined by the very talented Artisan Rhoda McPherson, delighted you are hopping with us Rhoda. I have ‘loosely’ interpreted the theme this month and have used the fabulous Sunshine Wishes framelits together with the Pattern Party Decorative Masks to create a scrapbook page.
The photo was taken in Cornwall last summer so not exactly April – however, we had 4 seasons in one day -every day! The rain clouds parted this particular evening and we were blessed with the most gorgeous sunshine. So we headed straight to the beach, the kids got playing and I got snapping!
It’s a very simple page embellished with embossing paste clouds and a fishing net made from linen thread in the bottom right corner. I also love the raindrops from the Glitter and Clear Epoxy Shapes which are retiring at the end of the month. They are the perfect accent for any weather themed projects or even little raindrops on flowers.
It’s funny that it depends what angle you adhere them whether you get torrential rain or just a little drizzle!!
You might also have spotted a new stamp set – Make a Difference is fabulous and available as an early release on May 2nd. There are two different fonts – capitals and low case – the possibilities are endless to customise your cards and projects.
Tips and Tricks for my Sunshine Wishes Scrapbook Page
- You can tape down the mask with some old washi to stop it from slippimg as you apply the paste.
- Allow the paste to dry before adhering your photo – it only takes a couple of minutes
- Sponge a little Whisper Whitee craft ink around the edges for a little interest and definition
- Don’t be afraid of empty space – I had to stop myself rom adding more. My favourite scrapbook pages are quite empty and I sometimes find it hard to keep a page empty too – so sit on your hands if you’re tempted to keep adding – It works!!
