This week I decided to play with the Color Theory, Memories and More card pack. Color Theory is a great card pack designed to coordinate with your memories throughout the seasons.
I have a beach scene to show you plus a random day out to a nearby castle. My layouts use retired pocket pages so these are a different combination to those that we currently stock (listed below)
I’ve mixed up the cards a little bit, choosing more to match the colours in my photos rather than sticking to the cards appropriate for that season.
That’s the beauty of this hobby – there are no rules; decorate as much or as little as you like, mix it up or don’t. It’s all down to your own personal choice.
If you’re familiar with this card pack, you may notice I’ve used ‘Winter’ cards above, but again, there are no rules to follow! I simply wanted to highlight the blue colour of my daughter’s Cinderella dress that she insisted on wearing as she was so excited to visit a real Castle!
There are various stickers and embellishments included in the card pack. One came in pretty useful on my journaling card as our day out was very much a Spring Day not Winter!
I also chopped up one of the 3 x 4 cards to create some elements to write a photo title on similar to what I did on my last layout.
Here are some hints and tips if you want to try Memories and More:
- Start now!! In all seriousness, you just need an album, photos, pocket pages, a pen and a card pack – that’s it! You will have these albums for you and your family to look at for years to come, long after your phone has died and your cyber photos have disappeared
- There are no rules! Embellish as much or as little as you like. Some layouts I embellish a lot, some not so much. Others I may go back to and add a bit more at a later stage. The best thing is unlike albums from years gone by, you can move your photos and even your pages around a bit if you find more photos or more memorabilia that you wish to include
- Use one collection per layout or mix it up a bit – the choice is yours. Your cards may be themed to suit the theme of your photos or they may just match the colours in your photos. As already mentioned there are no rules, just enjoy!!
As you can see below, I’ve listed the products I’ve used – not that many! This is really for everyone – and you don’t need to be ‘crafty’. Whether you take photos of your kids, the places you visit, the meals you cook, the events you compete in, absolutely anything you want to remember, this is FOR YOU!
