Enjoy the Little Things Video Blog Hop – Masculine Birthday card

Welcome to this month’s Enjoy the Little Things Video Blog Hop where our theme is all things Masculine.  As my husband’s birthday was coming up, it was the perfect opportunity to get ahead of the game and make a Masculine Birthday card.

It’s a fairly simple card as overly fussy is not his thing, but I wanted to show you how versatile the Broadway Bound suite is.  You may remember I created a bright and colourful kids card with this suite recently.  However, it is also perfect for a Masculine Birthday card as I hope this card proves. So without further ado, here is my card.

I’ve made the most of this stunning speciality paper which is perfect for any sort of celebration with it’s gold foil accents.

Tips and Tricks for my Masculine Birthday Card

• The colours I’ve used, Grey Granite and Basic Black together with the gold foil, come directly from the DSP.  As you can see from my earlier kids card, some of the other side have much brighter colours. However, I do think the monochrome side adds a very sophisticated touch to any card.
• I’ve added a layer of Basic Black with a very slim border, just enough to add definition to my card.
• There are candle stamps in the Broadway Birthday stamp set, but being a little lazy I used the dies to cut some candles from the DSP.  You can see how in the video below.
