This week at the Global Design Project, it’s a colour challenge and the three colours we are asked to work with are Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party. I’ve chosen the brand new stamp set, Love What You Do. I wanted to show you that it works beautifully with other colours, if for some crazy reason, you didn’t like the colours in the Share What You Love DSP.
And here is the card I came up with
I made these for tow of my oldest friends, who I was meant to meet up with this weekend. Unfortunately, our meeting will not go ahead due to unforeseen and very sad circumstances, but I will post on my cards to them.
Tips and Tricks for my Love What You Do Challenge Cards
- I used second generation stamping for the background. This means that I stamped first on scrap paper and then stamped again without re-inking. The result is a much lighter image and perfect for a background such as this. It also means my flower colours are not distorted.
- I stamped the flower in Lemon Lime Twist and used the smaller ‘blob’ stamp to colour my flowers in Melon Mambo.
- This image was then die-cut using the largest oval from the Stitched Shape Framelits. I sliced a bit off with my trimmer and lined it up against the side of my base card.
- The sentiment was stamped using Pool Party on the right of one card and the left of the other – not sure which I prefer.
- I stamped some extra leaves, flowers and added some rhinestones and silver metallic thread as embellishments.
