Stampin Creative Blog Hop – Love and Appreciation

By | January 27, 2018

Welcome to the first Stampin’ Creative Hop of 2018 where our theme this month is Love and Appreciation. We are delighted to welcome the first of this year’s guest hoppers, the lovely Laura Mackie from the UK, and Linda van Wely from the Netherlands.

You may have arrived from the very lovely Mikaela at the Crafty Oink Pen, where I’ll bet you were wowed with her beautiful ideas. I hope I can follow them!

As Stampin’ Up! demonstrators we form friendships with crafters all over the world and also closer to home. We also form very close friendships with our class attendees and customers.  One of my very good customers who has been crafting with me since I started as a demo is moving very far away, emigrating in fact and we said goodbye this past week.  It would be lovely to think we will meet again some time in the future but we will definitely stay in touch with the power of the world wide web.  This was the card I made her  – which was a variation of a card I made for a recent swap.

I’m hoping this is a little token of my love and appreciation for her and also a reminder to keep in touch!

It’s hard to show you without having a moving image, but I highlighted the Panda with Wink of Stella which just adds the right mount of sparkle.

3D Love and Appreciation Mini Craft Day Projects

While on the theme of Love and Appreciation, I thought I would also show you another little project I made, which is more of a Valentine.  All my projects today use the Party Pandas set which you can earn for FREE during Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-bration promotion – read more at the end of my post. We made this at my recent Mini Craft Day on Sunday and I was inspired by a project in this style I saw by Chris Galbraith from Tennessee.

It folds up perfectly to fit inside the Mini Pizza Boxes and really creates a wow moment when the recipient pulls out the first card, only for the rest to follow.

Tips and Tricks for my Love and Appreciation Fold Up Card

  • Use cardstock measuring 3 x 3 to ensure a good fit for our Mini Pizza Boxes
  • Place the ribbon in between the cardstock and your decorative layers
  • Line up on your trimmer or your grid paper to ensure even spacing between your elements
  • Have fun with your decorating, go as mad or as subtle as you like!

Did you also know that our Mini Pizza Boxes are lined to be food safe – so you can add in a favourite sweet treat for your beloved – perfect Valentines gift – don’t they say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!? It certainly works for me in reverse, hint hint!!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today, do hop on to the lovely Pip by clicking below. I’m sure she has a gorgeous project lined up for you.  Do hop around us all and if you’ve time leave us a comment, we do love to hear from you.
