Stampin’ Creative May Blog Hop – Sneak Peaks!

By | May 30, 2015

Where has the time gone?  I missed last month which means it’s been 2 months since I’ve been part of the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – it sure doesn’t feel that long!

It’s almost new catalogue time, excited?? Me too!  As demonstrators we have the privilege of being able to receive and order early from the new catalogues and one of the sets I chose was a set called Sprinkles of Life together with a matching Tree punch – so so cute!!

There are so many possibilities with this set and I’ve a feeling a couple of my fellow demonstrators might be showing you some other possibilities so do hop on the tour.

I also got the DSP stack, Cherry on Top and I decided to focus on the Birthday theme and create a couple of simple projects using the Sprinkles of Life as Cupcake.  Now, my projects this month are very simple for a reason.  I’m on holidays in Ireland at the minute and due to my entire household having a tummy bug last week I didn’t have a chance to get my projects organised before I left.  So, the night before, I grabbed a bag and what I thought I needed and off I went.

As I had to yet to think about my project, it was hard to judge what I would ‘need’ in advance but there were a few essentials that I forgot, notably adhesive!!!  I am very fond of Stamping’ Up products and when you have had to use a poor imitation, I can hand on heart state that our adhesive is THE BEST!!  I was nervous that the projects would stay stuck down for the photos, never mind sending them to someone by post!?!

Anyway, without further ado, here is my first card.

I’ve used Pool Party as my base followed by a layer of Cherry on Top DSP.  I then have 2 tags made from the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, one cut from Cherry on Top DSP and one from Whisper White where I have attached my little cupcake, greeting and some hearts again in Cherry on Top DSP.  The ribbon is our new in-colour Dotted Lace in Watermelon Wonder – so cute and delicate!  Note the co-ordinating envelope made with our new perfect weight envelope paper!!

Next up is one of our Mini Treat boxes, just the right size for a tiny little treat.  I’ve used the same Cherry on Top DSP decorated with more little cupcakes and again using the Lace ribbon as an embellishment.

And lastly I have made a cute little gift bag for my mini treat box with the fab new Gift Bag punch board.  This is using Cucumber Crush card stock- another of our new in-colours for 2015-2017 and has co-ordinating banner tags from Cherry on Top DSP. (You know we have a fab new triple banner punch which will punch out these flag ends perfectly – I haven’t got it yet as I convinced myself i didn’t ‘need’ it, mmmm, after this project, guess what is first in the basket on June 2nd?!)

Our new catalogue goes live on June 2nd – that’s Tuesday! Check back here then and it will be up on my blog, on the right hand side tool bar.  Tuesday is a very special day as, for one day only, we can order from both the new catalogue and the retiring list – don’t miss out!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post, do hop on to Stamping’ Delight and see what Louise has conjured up this month.  If you get lost on the hop, here is the full running order.  I will be back soon with some more exciting news about some fabulous extras should you wish to purchase the Starter kit – it involves free stamps – yay!!  Happy shopping on Tuesday 🙂

Thanks Lesley, I think cupcakes suit any age too, who doesn’t like cupcakes and the set is so versatile too as our other hoppers have shown

Oh WOW Eimear … I take my hat off to you. Creating this wonderful array of shares, whilst away on holiday with limited supplies and inferior adhesive, whilst having members of the family poorly, really does make you superwoman.

Beautiful background for these fantastic creations. I too have fallen in love with the Sprinkles of Life. Great set for a great cause x

You’re so right about the adhesive, and people are too embarrassed to admit the card has fallen apart so you never know. At least with SU adhesive you can be safe in the knowledge your creation is safe 🙂

Thx Emily, I think pulling out a limited amount of supplies and challenging myself to make something was a healthy task! Might try it more often… Though I sure did miss my stuff and did I mention adhesive?!!

The number of cards I’ve received through the post that have fallen apart from inferior adhesive is so sad x
