Stampin’ Up! Lilypad Lake Diorama for GDP #140

By | June 1, 2018

This week at the Global Design Project we are CASEing ‘the King’  – the very lovely and talented US demo, Brian King.  I have always been a big fan of Brian’s style and am sure his cards have influenced many of my creations.  This week I have cased his gorgeous card by creating a Lilypad Lake Diorama Card. Here is Brian’s original card.

So what does CASE mean exactly ?
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

So we can take what we like from the original design and make it our own. It could be the stamp set – the colours, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like really.  For my card, I have used the colours, Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride just like Brian. I also used Brian’s basic layout with an ombre background and a focal image to the left.

Tips and Tricks for my Lilypad Lake Diorama Card

  • Take two pieces of Basic Black cardstock both measuring the size of your basic card front.
  • Punch each of the 8 corners using the Detailed Trio punch (launching June 1st)
  • Score twice on the short side of the cardstock at 3/4 and 1 inch in then die cut an oval from one piece. Fold one scoreline mountain and one valley.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White 9cm square and stamp the water stamp ascending three times without reinking. Adhere to one of the Basic Black pieces.
  • Stamp, colour and die-cut all the extra pieces and assemble

This card is gorgeous, Eimear! I love that you chose black as the base of the card – really adds to the calmness. Love! Thanks for playing along with my CASE the Designer at GDP this week.
