I was asked to make a couple of wedding anniversary cards for a friend to celebrate some milestone wedding anniversaries. I turned to some retiring (and maybe a couple of retired) products. Goodbyes are never easy, but I know I will have some new favourites very soon once the new catalogue comes out.
Wedding Anniversary Card no 1
My first anniversary card uses some retired DSP from Sale-a-bration last year. Whilst it is Rose Gold, and I don’t have Rose Gold Foil (stay tuned for a May exclusive!!) our Copper Foil was a good substitute. The Number dies are also retired – don’t think I can ever part with mine – but the heart from Sunshine Wishes (heres’s another fab project using them) is still available. They are on our Retiring List so you have to act fast!! I loved pairing the die-cut elements with a frame from the Rectangle Shaped Dies. As you can see, I heat embossed the sentiment in copper and die-cut it with a smaller rectangle stitched die to match.
Wedding Anniversary Card no 2
For my next card, I used the gorgeous Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies with Fresh Fig Cardstock. It is such a beautifully rich colour – perfect for this occasion. I couldn’t find my Gold Foil (until after I’d cut my 10!) so I used some retired gold cardstock with the retired number dies. My sentiment comes from the Floral Phrases stamp set and with a spot of clever scoring I have popped up the sentiment. The pearl embellishments are from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearl. The dies, stamp set and pearls are all retiring – so grab them while you can!
